Optimizing BIOS Settings(All): Detailed

Setting Default Recommended
CPU Internal Frequency this is set to the mhz of your processor Although you should set this to the mhz of the processor you can set this number higher than is normally recommended for the processor this is know as overclocking.
CPU Vcore 1.65v for Pentium 3 This regulated the voltage to the processor. A higher setting can help in overclocking but will most likely shorten the life of your processor.
CPU Level 1 Cache Enabled Enabled; this feature provides increase CPU throughput and should be enabled at all costs.
CPU Level 2 Cache Enabled Enabled; this feature provides increase CPU throughput and should be enabled at all costs.
CPU Level 2 Cache ECC Check Disabled  
Processor Serial Number Disabled This is not really a performance issue it is mostly for privacy concerns.
BIOS Update Enabled Controls if the BIOS can be flashed if security is a major concern you can disable this.
SDRAM Timing, SDRAM Cas Latency, SDRAM RAS to CAS Delay, SDRAM RAS Precharge Time by SPD Controls the speed in which the system access memory lower settings are always faster but if the RAM is not quick enough you could get crashes and other side effects.
AGP Capability depends on video card This setting should match the AGP spec of your video card either 1x, 2x or 4x.
High Priority PCI Mode Enabled This gives higher priority to PCI Slot 1 then the other PCI slots.
Onboard PCI IDE Enable Both This enables the primary and secondary IDE channels. Enable just what you need if the system is SCSI then all channels can be disabled. This can free up IRQ 14 and 15.
Onboard Serial Port 1 3F8H/IRQ4 This is the default address for devices using serial port 1 if you do not have any devices plugged into this port disabled is preferred.
Onboard Serial Port 2 2F8H/IRQ3 This is the default address for devices using serial port 2 if you do not have any devices plugged into this port disabled is preferred.
Parallel Port Mode ECP+EPP ECP + EPP provide advanced features and speed it should be enabled if your printer can handle this mode.
